I can't say how proud I am of how well Lillian has been doing, adjusting to all the huge changes and being such a huge help around the house. She's been doing some new chores and one fun thing a day that we dont usually do all the time.
My daughter is loving our schedule. This week we are planning out every day (loosely) to make sure we are getting things accomplished. Even though she doesn't enjoy doing chores, she looks forward to what she can do after and she's being more positive about it; ie: after I finish this I can't wait to paint a picture.
Every day we have our normal routine: breakfast, homework, keeping the bedroom clean, and putting dishes away for my daughter, washing them for the adults (blame my OCD I can't eat off dishes when she washes them)
My daughter's schedule is
Monday - her laundry - tie dye
Tuesday - vacuum - painting
Wednesday - her brother's laundry - paint her nails
Thursday - clean her bathroom - her choice
Friday - washing windows - campouts in the living room
As unimpressed as she was at first about doing her brother's laundry she's looking forward to being able to paint her nails after. We also fit in outside time for the kids or a walk when we can, and she likes helping make dinner especially when there's any mixing involved. We are using positive reinforcement, avoiding yelling and fighting, and doing our best to get through the days with a happy healthy family.
